Getting Started
MakerStack gets you from zero to a tracked inventory in under five minutes.
Sign in
Section titled “Sign in”MakerStack supports multiple ways to sign in:
- OAuth providers — GitHub, Google, and Microsoft (where configured). No password to manage.
- Username and password — create a local account with your email address and a password.
- Go to app.makerstack.space
- Choose your preferred sign-in method — OAuth provider or username/password
- If signing in with an OAuth provider, authorise MakerStack when prompted
- You’re in ✅
Create a workspace
Section titled “Create a workspace”A workspace holds all your spools, locations, and devices. Your first workspace is created automatically when you sign in.
You can create additional workspaces to separate collections (e.g. home vs. maker space) or invite collaborators to share one.
Add your first spool
Section titled “Add your first spool”- Open My Spools from the sidebar
- Click Add spool
- Pick (or create) a product — manufacturer + material type + colour
- Set the starting weight in grams (check the label)
- Optionally assign a location so you know where it lives
- Click Save
The spool now appears in your inventory with a colour chip, remaining weight, and quick-access actions.
Log a print
Section titled “Log a print”Every time you finish a print, deduct the filament used:
- Open My Spools and find the spool you printed with
- Click Log usage
- Enter the weight consumed in grams — or pick a quick preset (10 g, 25 g, 50 g, 100 g, 250 g)
- Optionally enter a print name for your records
- Click Log
The remaining weight updates instantly. Low-stock warnings appear on the Dashboard when a spool drops below your threshold.
