Projects bring together everything about a print job — the files, filament requirements, notes, and a full consumption log. Perfect for anything more complex than a one-off print.

What’s in a project

📋 Details

Name, description, category, tags, and an optional thumbnail image.

🧵 Filament requirements

Define which colours and materials the model needs — MakerStack checks your inventory for matches.

🖨️ Print runs

Log each batch of prints with spool assignments and per-requirement gram consumption.

📁 Files & links

Upload STLs, sliced files, or reference docs. Attach URLs (Printables, Thingiverse, etc.).

📝 Notes

Full markdown notes with image embedding — ideal for settings, lessons learned, reminders.

🔗 Sharing

Generate a read-only share link anyone can view without an account.

Creating a project

Go to Projects → New project
Enter a name and optional description
Assign a category (or create one) for Kanban-style grouping
Add tags to make it searchable
Click Save

Filament requirements

Tell MakerStack what the model needs before you print:

Open the project → Add requirement
Choose a colour (or describe it) and material type
Set an estimated weight in grams (optional but useful)

MakerStack cross-references requirements against your spool inventory so you can see at a glance whether you have what you need.

Kanban view

The Projects page groups your projects by category in a Kanban-style board. Drag cards between columns to change a project’s category. Create, rename, and reorder categories from Project Categories (gear icon near the board header).

Favourites

Star any project to pin it to the top of your list and on the Dashboard. Click the ★ on the project card or inside the detail view.

Cloning a project

Need to run the same print again? Open the project → Clone. A copy is created with the same details and requirements — no print-run history.

Deleting a project

Open the project → More actions → Delete. This permanently removes the project and all its print runs.
