Print Runs
A print run is a batch of prints within a project. You define which spools to use for each filament requirement and log the grams consumed. Over time this gives you an accurate history of material usage.
Creating a print run
Section titled “Creating a print run”- Open a project → click New print run
- Enter a name or leave it as the default (Run 1, Run 2, …)
- Set the quantity of parts to print (default: 1)
- Click Create
The run starts in Pending status.
Assigning spools to requirements
Section titled “Assigning spools to requirements”Each filament requirement in your project needs a spool assigned before you can log usage:
- Inside the print run, find the requirement (e.g. “White PLA”)
- Click Assign spool
- Pick from your inventory — MakerStack shows matching spools with their remaining weight
- Click Confirm
Logging filament consumption
Section titled “Logging filament consumption”After the print finishes:
- Click Log usage on the requirement in the print run
- Enter the grams consumed — quick presets: 10 g, 25 g, 50 g, 100 g, 250 g
- Add an optional print name (e.g. “Benchy — 0.4 nozzle test”)
- Click Log
The spool’s remaining weight is deducted automatically.
Completing a print run
Section titled “Completing a print run”Once you’ve logged usage for all requirements, click Complete to mark the run as done. Completed runs are read-only.
Duplicating a print run
Section titled “Duplicating a print run”Need to repeat the exact same run? Click Duplicate on any run to create a fresh copy with the same requirements and spool assignments — ready for new consumption logs.
Deleting a print run
Section titled “Deleting a print run”Click Delete on a run to permanently remove it and its usage logs. Spool weights are not restored — this is a data record, not a reversal of actual consumption.
Print run statuses
Section titled “Print run statuses”| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Created, not yet started |
| In progress | Spools assigned, usage logged |
| Complete | Marked done — read-only |
Viewing the consumption breakdown
Section titled “Viewing the consumption breakdown”Open a completed (or in-progress) print run to see a breakdown of consumption per requirement, including which spool was used and when usage was logged.
